Can anybody tell me if a automatic shift linkage is different from a automatic floor shift and a automatic column shift? Or are they the same?

I can only imagine that they are different based off of the angles, however, it is something that has never been brought up before. You have me curious, but I would not expect them to be the same.

The only reason why I asked is because I am a mini-trucker and would like to convert my 1984 Nissan 720 Extended Cab from automatic on the floor to automatic on the column. Is there a how to article on this website maybe?

To be honest, it is not a question that I have ever seen come up before... let alone someone post a DIY for.

Well I have been doing some research on this particular modification and I already have a automatic steering column out of a 1988 Nissan pickup but need the shift linkage that goes from the column to the transmission. I hope I don't need to change transmissions just to complete this modification, but I feel like I could use some type of help.
