Hello everyone. Our Q has been running well for all this time, with a few little glitches here and there.
A new one has popped up and the steering wheel does not tilt up.I noticed that the lights on buttons "1" and key "2" on the Seat Control panel flashes, whether or not the key is in the ignition. Then I noticed that the Automatic Seat Positioner is malfunctioning. So I played with all the seat controls and steering wheel control, found that the tilt does not work.I believe the ASP does not work since the steering wheel tilt does not work.
So:All seat adjustments work.Steering wheel telescopes, but does not tilt.Buttons "1" and "2" blink.
So here is what happens:-When I move the steering control switch up and down for tilt, I hear no sounds, no clicking. Telescoping works fine.-The lights on butttons "1" and "2" on the seat control panel blink non-stop.-The steering wheel has tilted up and down fine up until now, so this makes me think it is could be the tilting sensor.
My questions and ideas:-Since there is no clicking sound, does that mean the tilting motor is malfunctioning?-Maybe the switch sends no power to the motor if it senses that the tilt sensor is malfunctioning?-I'm leaning towards the idea that the tilt sensor is broken, and the control panel senses that and lets me know by blinking the 2 keys and preventing me from tilting the steering wheel.-Also, if the motor is dead or dieing, I expect to hear some type or click or whining from the motor. I'm no electrical guru so I'm not sure.-Is there a way to test the tilt sensor or motor?
Post feels a little lengthy.Thank you for any input, and for reading this post.
