Oh man this is risky cause it is for a...Honda...but hey, it's my brother's and it's stock, not ricified. It is a 90 honda accord and the automatic seat belt for the driver's side goes forward just like it is supposed to but won't go back like it's supposed to. So the weird thing is that I took the side panels off to expose it all and it isn't jammed or anything because I just wired the motor directly to the car battery and it went back perfectly fine. So I put it back together seeing no wiring problems or anything defective with the motor or track and tried it again and it went forward but not back. No worries b/c Honda has you covered with a little tool in the tool kit that you can manually crank the seat belt back with the fuse pulled. So now it's back and the fuse is out but it's annoying to buckle both the lap belt and that shoulder belt. I thought maybe the same switch that turns the dome light off would be the "sensor" for this seat belt and jiggled it and the dome light flickered but I tightened that up (b/c only one wire goes to it, the mounting screw is the ground) and it didn't flicker or anything then. Sorry to bring a honda to this site but you guys have helped me out before and maybe somebody has had experience with something like this. Any ideas are welcome!

At the point at which the belt stops at the BACK. check the switch for continuity. I bet it thinks its closed all the time so the control thinks its already there and wont activete the motor.

Although he does have a point most nissan belts had a recall around that time period because of defective belt buckles made by takada [ the company that made almost all seat belts for all lines of japanese cars. Nissan was forced into a lifetime seat belt warrany because of it[ on those yr cars anyway] I would imagine honda had the same problem. So this may be covered under some kinda of warranty.

Scott, i apologize about my abrupt reply...

Confirmed: they are lifetime warranty items & should be taken care of @ dealership.

I signed up w/ a honda forum & did a search for u.

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1289553

just phone/email local honda dealers before bringing the vehicle in just to confirm.

I also noted that they're covered w/ automatic seatbelts of nissans. I also noted that this was covered w/ a POS '89 dodge shadow my family had back in the day...

touchdown w/ a noob ? wow... j/k

well since the DOT sorta imposed those kinda rules about the automatic sliding shoulder seatbelt warranties to cover the owners' a$$ so various manufacturers have to own up to it.

that's my 2 cents

some people says their local dealers won't do it; just dial the 800 # to the specific manufacturer to biatch to the company about it, & the regional manager will come down on them for causing all the ruckus

most of the seatbelt components are covered life time from like 88 to 01 or 02 then its 7years for newer then 02.
