automatic rb20det transmission problem

well i just got done swapping in a auto rb20 in my 90 s13 and i went for a drive and it wouldnt shift gears. It just stays in first gear, i used the ka auto computer off the transmission. I dont know what else to do I changed the stall converter and transmission and still the same thing so any help would be appreciated

He's built a retarded fast RB20DET 5 speed already, i think this is for someone else, but to answer your question, or yet, answer it with another question, did you, or do you have the Controll module for the RB20 auto transmission?Either that or shift linkage for the transmission sits a bit off.

are you sure its not 2nd gear (limp mode)?? I had so many problems with my auto swap, i converted to 5spd:) I do have my auto transmission, flexplate and torque converter if your interested.

did you wire in the power/hold switch??I had a "professional" shop perform my swap, first i only had second gear, they said the tq converter was bad and sent me on my way. I called BullS*** and they completely re-wired the transmission and installed the power/hold switch. It ran better, but still held onto 2nd too long, so i spent 1500 bucks on a 5spd swap....problem solved.

I have the same problem with my auto trans and going to get it servicedIf that doesn't work getting the shift solenoids checked and clutches...

Interested to know if you solved your problem and how......
