Automatic or manual

im getting a 1989 240sx automatic. i was just wondering should i try to get a manual or is the automatic good enough?

autos are usually easier to find and less molested. if you can find a nice 5 speed then great but if not a 5speed swap is a great option, especially if your planning an engine swap in the future

Yea im new to the the 240's so im just tryin to learn all i can. but i just dont really have the money to do a swap though.

then save your money, a swap isnt that pricey if you shop around, its much cheaper then many of the other mods to be done,

Well i was gonna get cold air intake and some new headers. Should i go for the suspension first though?

I would. You gotta have a good platform to handle all that power. That means suspension and transmission and wheels and tires before you go adding a bunch of horsepower and bolt ons to it. As for the auto manual thing I would just look around for a 5-speed. It might take some patience but it will be worth it

Well see i really want a 5-speed but one of my friends is selling it to me for only $600 and i couldnt beat that so im taking it. But thanks for the advice.

Don't get me wrong, If you can get the parts, go for it. I have a few parts waiting to be put on after I get some bushings. 600 for a 5speed transmission? That seems a little high. Talk him down.....

I had a chance to get a 5speed for 100 bucks at a local junkyard about a year ago......but I passed it up.........I regret it now....

Well it need new tires and belts, ya know thins like that. But should i wait and try to find a 5-speed?
