Really dumb question I apologize.

I just bought a 2012 altima 2.5s coupe and it has the option to be automatic or manual. On the dash it has an indicator light letting you know which mode it is in A or B. My car was bought used so I do not have an owners manual and the sells man didn't say anything, he wasn't too bright. I looked it up online and I think I have an idea of which is which but not sure.

My questions is... is A auto or manual and is B which one? I was the dummy who didnt pay attention when I bought the car what letter it was in and while i was cleaning the dash up i pushed the button a couple times on accident and no idea where it was.

I feel so dumb lol

The A and B are trip counters. You can count how far you drove in a trip with either one. I believe there is an indicator telling you what mode you're in, but from what I can recall, when you're in automatic it says D and when you're in manual, it says the number of the gear you are in.

Never feel dumb again, download a Nissan Altima Owners manual free from the official Nissan site.

So we can guess that you have never read 2-4 Instruments and controls in your Owner's Manual? That section explains what it is and how to reset it.

Be confused no more!

I've owned 2 altima coupes for 4 years now. I've probably encountered every problem in the book. Never this one, though. :slap:
