Hi everyone! This being my second post, just wanted to say hello and what a groovy website you got here.

Well after reading over this site, I've decided to sell / trade my civic hatch. I read up a little in the turbo section and it was really interesting. Dropping in and building a turbo'd motor really fits my style.

So, with that being said, let me get to the point. I found a cheap 240sx but it is an automatic. Is there a lot of cosmetic work and expenses that go along with converting / switching out an automatic ka motor and putting in a sr20? I figure if i sell my hatch for $3800, get the car for less than a grand, I should have a "comfortable" amount to play with? Has anyone here done it and can maybe give me some pointers? I greatly appreciate the help!

Thanks,

Layton

Seriously, there have been multiple posts about this in the past week and most are still on the front page, and there is a sticky in the SR forum about the 5 speed swap.

Edit: learn to use the search button!

A friend of mine dropped out the automatic in his 240 for the manual. I believe there was a link to site that had instructions for it on the forums here. Ill have him look at this post and contact ya.

my signature has a manual swap guide linked in it. It's the same for either an SR or a KA manual swap.

as far as cosmetic changes, there are none. You'll need a new shift boot and the ring that anchors it to the center console.
