How much will it cost to change a 95 SE automatic 240sx to manual?

And would yal think it cheaper to just get a long-block when swapping in an SR20?

Please add any more info if possible. I need to know by tonight. I might be buying an automatic.

ok. when you do an SR swap, you better be getting more than a long block. You need most of the widgets and gizmos (ignitor chip, ECU, etc) that go with it. Also, the bellhousing bolt patterns are different from a KA transmission to an SR transmission, so you'll need the SR transmission as well. There's a reason why we only buy clips and motorsets.

If you decide to go with an SR swap or any engine swap in the future, why are you considering doing a manual swap on your KA? Save the money for the swap.

That's what I meant, sorry. I was thinking it might be cheaper to just buy this auto and then buy an SR clip and swap in the long block along with everything else to make it a manual SR from an auto KA. I'm a newbie so does the clip that yal get always include everything that is needed for an auto KA ->manual SR swap?

i think you'll need a US clutch master cylinder. The hydrolic lines will be on the wrong side if you use the JDM version I believe. But other than that, everything else will work fine.

According to EverythingNissan.com, it retails for 99.56 They sell it for 74.67.

It's always a good idea to get your master cylinders (clutch or brake) from an OEM source. My friend went through 3 rebuilt brake MCs for his MX-6 within a month. He finally broke down and went to the dealership and hasn't had a problem since then. That makes me glad cause now I don't get called every week to come help bleed the brake system.

just get a used one at a scrapyard and get a rebuild kit if needed... quite a bit cheaper
