Automatic lock-up with keyless entry?

My dealer says I need to buy a 700.00 alarm system from them if I want my new G37 to lock itself up when I walk away without having to touch the keyless thing in my pocket. Is this true? Is there a way around this? Or just bite the bullet? I don't want one of those generic sounding electric sireens that seem to go off all the time.

I just got into the habit of pressing the button on the door handle after I shut the door, but I can see the advantage of having it auto lock when you walk away. Wouldn't be worth 700.00 for me though.
