Can the automatic lights be set to automatically turn on when the wiper blades are in use?

I believe it can be done. It won't be a setting though, but a custom electrical wiring setup. you'll need to wire in a normally open relay parrallel to the headlight switch((es), on and auto as well)). best bet, find or make a friend who is an industrial electrical tech, someone who knows Electrical controls and logic (key words).

logic....as in if a+b=c and c is the sum of d+e then (a+d)-(b+e)*c=0 ?

I believe the clinical diagnosis is "princessitis lazyasseous".

I swore that I would never use them, but it really is easy to fall under its spell.

Logic as in electrical inputs, from various sources, into a computer that in turn "computes" those signals into a usable signal for another item

I think he was going for the other way around.....that anytime the wipers were turned on, the lights would come on. Which makes sense. Best bet scenario would be lights come on in the "auto" setting when the wipers are used and stay on for the 30seconds or so if the wipers were only used once. That way you wouldn't have the lights going on and off for just a quick swipe.

And now that i think about it....instead of tying the wipers to the lights, tie it to the light sensor, so that way when you turn on your wipers, your lights "think" its dark out.

thanks adidas, I'm not so good with the layman.

Leifab, you might be right, provided photoframed kept his light switch in the "auto" position, which I do anyway.

...yeah instead of a normally open relay parrallel to the headlight switch. you need a normally closed relay in series with the light sensor.

The issue is NY and other states require the headlights to be on if the wipers are engaged for a period of time. I was hoping that Nissan would have considered this already and programmed it in somewhere.

having HIDs if you do a quick wipe of the windows and your HID turned on it wouldn't be good for them. Man I wish the car controller was controlled by a software we can tweak and rewrite the logic w/ code hehe. Of course it won't be as reliable, safe bcuz of crashes hehe
