Im just trying to figure out before i drop some money down on building my transmission on what do i need i did searching on this board an they usually say just get a high stall torque converter an a transmission cooler? Is that true an also if i get this were can i get it from only place i know of is level 10 an they charge freakin $1000 for a bullet proof torque converter that is way too much money. So does anyone know of a place were i can get a torque converter for cheaper also a transmission cooler? Oh yeah if you have anymore tips on transmission buildups please let me know, because i only want to run like 12psi or so off the greddy kit for now. Also in a automatic transmission does the BOV go off when it shifts or only when you let off the gas?

Id like some help with this an did alot of searching

 :help

is this going to be a daily driver? imo, high stall converters and lightweight flywheels are overrated. i've driven a car with a high stall converter and it sucked. it was fun for racing, but that's it.

the automatic transmission is a pretty stout piece. i plan on running boost on mine, and the only buildup i'm going to do is switch to redline transmission oil. for day to day driving and the occasional race, i don't see a need to add a transmission cooler.

the bov will open only when you let off the gas.

do you have the sport shift or the smooth shift? cos if youre going to be putting power down you cant afford to have anything but a sport shift. so get a nice hard shift kit.

call up some transmission places around you. one place quoted me $300 and 2 days to get one of my extra torque converters made into a high stall. transmission cooler you can get for $50 at a parts store or i can sell you the one i used for like $25. when i was auto i was over boosting to about 10psi. the transmission was holding up jsut fine. shifts began to fell sort of soft tho, maybe it was jsut me tho

Precision is awsome, call them. Get a stall not exceeding 2800 rpm and a cooler from http://www.summitracing.com with some Redline ATF and you'll be fine. If they don't make one for the 240, they'll take urs and replace the internals and ship it back. They quoted me 350 IIRC for my Skyline.
