Glad I could help. It is always good to look at the worst case scenario to be on the safe side. While it can get humid and miserable, cars do not cool by evaporation, so heat is the big issue. For reference, I looked up the highest temp ever recorded in Toronto, which was 40C or 104F back in 1936, or approximately the peak temp during my trip-- so you are good.
But if you want further evidence, the Altima is often the best selling vehicle in Nevada, where the record high is 52C/125F. The average daily high temperature for Vegas in July is 104F, as hot as the highest temp ever recorded in Toronto (which has an average daily high temp of 80F in July). If there were significant issues with heat and CVT's then you would be hearing about it, and Nissan would not keep selling so many.
