Hello everyone

I have just bought a 350z 2003 jape import and I was hoping you could help me with a small problem on it. It drives fine but after about half an hour of heavy driving the area beside the gear lever gets very hot like the box is overheating. No warning lights come on and she keeps on going with no other signs of anything happening. It is an automatic box with the triptronic as well

Has anyone seen this before. Thanks in advance for any advice
Shane

I've had a couple of miata that get extremely hot around the shifter due to the trans tunnel seal deteriorating where the shifter goes through the trans tunnel. I assume the auto has the same hole in the trans tunnel as the manual and there should be a seal under there, and on the Z there si even some insulation, I'd dig in deep and see if the seals and insulation are still present and not damaged.
