Here's a problem that happens very infrequently, with no rhyme or reason. At home I do not lock my vehicle (shhh, don't tell anyone), yet there a times when I try to pull the door handle open to get in my Rogue, but the door won't open. Thinking I may have locked it, I will press the button on the handle, which actually locks the doors.

As far as I can tell, this problem is with the drivers' door only. Obviously it's not a key fob issue, as the door is already unlocked. This is slowly driving me crazy (which should be a short trip). Has anyone else experienced this, or am I loosing it?

This has happen to me a half dozen times which is why I don't close my door all the way when keys are in the ignition or when my kids are in the car. When I hear it lock, I am not surprised no more. Seems like Nissan using substandard parts. Just like with the door issues. Dealer wanted 600 dollars so I can open my door. No thanks, I fixed it myself with my rachet set and needle nose pliers for free.

Yes, but I think y'all are missing something. The car door has to be unlocked when I get out, and as previously stated, the car is left parked at home unlocked. When I pull on the door handle, it does not open. If I hit the door button it locks all the doors, I then have to hit it again to unlock it so I can get in. If it had been locked, hitting the button the first time should have unlocked the door, but that's not the case. It's almost as if the car had locked only the drivers door, leaving the others unlocked, with no input by me.

A few days ago I was going shopping with my partner. He was able to open the front passenger door, but the drivers' door would not open.

Dunno, maybe it's possessed and doesn't like me.

Is it possible that when you leave the car the previous time, you have the door locked from inside when closing the door, while your passenger leave it unlock when they leave?

My doors lock randomly as well (2013 Rogue.) Dealer has no ideas. I had a key cut at Canadian Tire and put it in my wallet, as I am frequently miles from any homes or telephone service, cell or otherwise. e.g. Get out to pay for parking and return to find you can't get into the car! WTF.

It is a major problem

my wifes does this all the time. the car is always left unlocked in the garage but when coming back out to it usually the drivers door is locked while all other doors are left unlocked, it doesn't make any sense. pushing the button then locks all the doors and pushing again unlocks them all. why is the the drivers door the only one locking and for what reason?

Mine has exhibited a new quark. Normally when parking and turning off the vehicle, all doors should unlock with an audible click. However on two separate occasions, the system failed and none of the doors unlocked, so I had to unlock the door myself (ohh the horrors of manual labor!).
