Not sure what you mean. You say "tach", but then you mention MPH. A tach reads RPM, while a speedometer reads MPH.
A tach is a tach is a tach. It has nothing to do with the transmission, so your tach will work fine. Your motor was a KA24DE, so the tach will function with a SR just fine.

You'll need to use either the sub-harness off the SR (if it came with one), or get yourself a 5-speed KA subharness.

There are a few wiring issues to go over with a auto - 5speed conversion. They've been covered on the this forum, just search.
Also, if the SR is from a S13, you don't need to swap any sensors. The transmission's speed sensor will work as is.
