i have a 89 nissan maxima with a auto matic and wanted to swap in a manual and was wonderin if i have to change computers

No, you should be fine with the current ECU. You'll need to bypass the park position sensor, though, and you won't have a clutch lockout, but beyond that the automatic ECU will be fine.
