My bad about my earlier post. I tried what you are explaining and watched my rpm gauge. My 05 does drop anywhere from 100 - 200 rpm depending on the speed at the time, when I shift from auto in 5th to auto-manual in 5th. Granted you do have to shift up from 4-5th but the rpm does drop. If you watch your rpm gauge while driving in auto 5th gear and note the rpms, then you switch to auto-manual 5th at the same speed and watch your rpms the earlier noted rpms will drop a couple hundred rpms. As for your original question I dont know what is happening or why it does that. It is odd to see your rpms drop while maintainig the same speed and power. I bet if everyone really watched their rpm gauge while performing the auto to automanual they to will notice what the hell your talking about.
