Hey guys,

I noticed today that my lights didn't automatically come on even though it was pretty dark out and they were on the "Auto" setting. They definitely should have been on (for safety driving in lower light, not because it was too dark to see), but I'm wondering how sensitive it's supposed to be. I like having some kind of lights on no matter what time of the day it is (parking lights are fine), but I hate going from the Off position to Parking to Auto to On when it's dark out because it turns on and off the lights quickly, which the manual says isn't good. Do you guys even use Auto, or should I just deal with having the headlights flash on/off when going from Off to Parking to Auto to On?

Thanks,

Matt

Oh yes! there is a simple resolution to this. Basically all you need to do is visit your nissan dealership and ask them to change the sensitivity of the auto light system. They just use consult III to adjust the sensitivity of the optical sensor mounted on the dash. There are like 3 different modes they can choose from, 2 of them turn on the headlights sooner and the other turns them on later. Just let them know how sensitive you want it to be so they can selct the proper mode. Im goin in next week for my first oil change and so they can change the sensitivity of the autolight system as well.
