Hey guys I'm not a familiar face on this forum as I post mostly on Nissanclub.com. I am in the middle of talking and trying to get CF Mirror covers for the 3.5/2.5 SL blinker Mirrors to be made. Being that this is the most desired mirror and many people upgrade from the non folding mirror to the folding mirror with blinker we can start off with that before maybe moving to the nonfolding mirror.

I have already spoke to Autokits-X on producing them. They currently make CF mirror covers for Infiniti's, Nissan 370z's and Mitsubishi Evo X. They got 100% great feedback on them. They are normally priced out at $200 plus $20 shipping. Autokits-X quoted "don't worry, if we make a group buy with 15+orders we can sell them for much less than $200". That was pulled directly out of my email. Not sure how they will go about this but I have offered my spare OEM covers that are unpainted. I was going to have them skinned with CF in the past but will donate them for a good cause if they can be mass produced into a mold.

SOOO who would be on board?

Also checked the part numbers on the Alima coupe and sedan they share the same part number. This is posted on Nissanclub and most updates will be placed there.

To be clear this is the mirror that will be done:

I'm pretty sure you've gotta speak with one of the mods before planning a group buy. Also, mentioning the "other" forum is a big no-no :poke:

Wait it's a CF cover? Can't you just CF Vinyl wrap your mirror and you'll get the same outcome.

I agree. You're only gonna gain the look. The only thing worth CF'ing is the hood, fenders and trunk

This will not be a vinyl cf wrap. This will be laid CF with clear resin and clear coated to match your hoods, trunks or whatever you want have in real Carbon Fiber already. Not sure if it will be a cap or a replacement of the actual painted piece. Still in the early stages talking it over with Autokits-X. Just trying to get more things out for our Altimas. Not trying to push anybody into another forum. I have seen reference to other sites many times with out being flagged. I wont be talking about the other forum at all during the process. Just stating that all updated information will be there. Everyone knows the Altima Coupe Group has a bigger community here at Nicoclub and Nissanclub has many more sedans that post over there. Mentioning things in both places can help benefit this being it will fit both cars. If people have an issue with this being up then please delete or ignore. Just trying to help the 4th Gen Altima Coupe/Sedan family. SOOO anybody interested? Trying to move this as fast as possible. It's not a group buy yet just finding interest and people who are willing to put a partial payment down when the time is ready to start the project. Autokits-X made the Sedans CF Diffuser and that worked out very well. It is a long process but the only way to get more things available is to jump and go forward as a united group.

I would love to get those, as long as they're covers and not the whole part.
I saw some Mercedes side mirrors CF covers before, they look good.
And no, a CF vinyl will NEVER look like the real thing

Update: 11/9/12
Spoke with Jaime from Autokits-X yesterday night on my way home from work. He is rather excited on working with this project and is looking to make this happen super fast with in a few weeks. I got super sick pricing for us provided that we hit the goals. Jaime was estimating that shipping costs could be anywhere from $10 - $20 in the states. I also confirmed that these will be a cover that goes on top of the painted portion for a simpler and easier install. Reduces the risk of breaking the OEM painted cover. I think we can get 20 peeps involved easily between the 2 sites. To get things started Jaime will let me know when we need to start sending him money. You can be involved with $50 down and then pay the rest when items are ready to go out or you can even pay $100 and then either pay the difference plus shipping or if we get 30 just the shipping. We already have 5 people that want in! Spread the word.
Pre-order Pricing
15+ people $150 + shipping
20+ people $120 + shipping
30+ people $100 + shipping

Pricing will go up to $200 after a determined date once project is completed.

I confirmed with Jaime at Autokits and these will be a cover to eliminate the chance of ruining the OEM painted cover. So I marked you down?

Sorry, but I'm not paying a cent until I get something that proves that everything is legitimate.
Any of you guys dealt with this company before? You can never be too careful
I don't live in the US, so i've got to be extra careful. Count me in if all goes well! :dblthumb:

Just to be clear, group buys do not happen on this forum unless its through an approved vendor.

Drumming up interest and taking down names for potential buyers is fine by me as it helps he community as a whole.

I don't recommend anybody fork over cash unless this is a vendor approved to advertise or sell on NICO. Group buys or interest threads outside of NICO are at your own discretion!

Mods can someone tell me in a PM what i registered my 07 Winterfrost 3.5 name with? I can not find it and I have that user name logged in from work and I work there Mon - Fri.

Anyhow this is my other user name that I don't really want to use but will for the weekend to post. Anyhow. We have used Autokits-X for the CF rear diffuser in the past and came out great success. I personally don't take the money. All transactions are done with Autokits-X with paypal so nobody gets screwed. They are extremely professional. When the time comes I would ask for the emails who want to be in and they will send you an invoice to pay the portion desired. If you don't have paypal then I would send you Jaime's email. I'm looking at it like this now I don't want to include you guys and will keep it strictly to Nissanclub members. We are filling the spots over there rather quickly. Didn't think it was going to go so sour over here and just thought you guys would like to be included in something special and get a phenominal price once the product is done. I plan to reach 30 to get the price cut in half from $200. Any order placed after will pay full price so just saying. If a moderator would like to talk to me personally on the phone please call I have nothing to hide and will also share Jaime's number if you personally want to speak to him as a rep for Nicoclub. I am the organizer of this project. I always wanted them for my Altima and contacted Autokits-X to get this done. I seen the covers on G37s at a previous meet and loved them and like I said earlier they did an amazing job on our rear diffuser.

PM me for my cell on this user name till I figure the password or issue with the 07 Winterfrost 3.5 user name.

I edited the first page to show more people are interested and to see if anybody else wants in. This is happening and I am sending the OEM pieces to be fitted for the mold.

Oh and I will try and see if I can get a seperate mold for anybody that wants in that has no blinker. As of right now it will be just the blinker style until I say.

I'm more interested in the rear diffuser than the mirror covers.

I'm sure they'd be glad to make a mildly unsymmetrical rear diffuser for the coupes as well, just as long as you ask nicely and throw a bunch of money at them.

I see the thread has been brought back to life over here so I updated the first post showing who paid and who still needs to pay and where we are on the different tiers of discounts on this new product. Hopefully production will begin soon. Just awaiting for that email. Once product is complete the people who got there deposits in will be offered the product at the discounted tier we achieved as a group. Everyone else will pay the retail price if they want them later.
