auto up/down windows

Can anyone think of a reason that a window would work using the auto down and not the auto up feature? Meaning using the driver power window buttons in the car and activating the button so that the window goes all the way up or all the way down automatically without having to hold the button.

you have to reset them, just hold them down for about 5 to 10 sec. and keep playing with them if it doesn't work the first time. Mines did but i seen others that didn't.
