Does anyone know of an automatic turbo Ka24det making 400 horsepower?

theres one thats been around for sale a couple times making about 330rwhp. the transmission was fully built from level 10 tho. my stock auto transmission started feeling a little soft around 10psi. word is they can take about 350rwhp

This may be unrelated, but...In my S13, I used to neutral drop the sheit out of it, for fun. I never could blow that transmission up. I always wanted to blow it up, but I couldn't. I'm sure I neutral dropped it 100's of times. Strong *** auto transmission. Oh yea, it had 175k miles

the main issue is heat, Heat kills auto trannies not TQ.

make sure you are running below 180F and change the fluid from time to time, you should be fine

true, i ran a transmission cooler. i blew my engine after a month so i didnt get much time to see how the transmission was holding up. my new idea now is to build an auto 240 for bracket racing. that will eventually get turboed, prolly this season

Send the toque converter to Precision Industries, they will swap out all the crap internals and give it whatever stall you want. I was quoted $350 for my RB20DET converter. The converter will most likely be the first thing to go in the slush box.

I can't speak this for fact, someone please clarify, but the R32 Skyline GTS-t with the RB20DET has the same transmission as the 240. If that is fact then it will hold 400WHP with no problems.

it's either the R32 or the Z32. i can't remember which (i'll do some digging later). hell, all three might be the same. either way, the stock automatic transmission is no slouch.

If its the Z32 then it will hold 500WHP proven. I'd still swap out the torque converter though. Get a 2500 stall and you'll be pretty much out launching most manuals at the track. You can also build alot more boost on the line with an auto. Hopefully Greg(AZHitman) lets me play with his for a month or so.

You would be surprised how driveable a 2500 stall would be. A little sloppy, but not bad.You better have a good drag setup for rear-end traction, cuz with a 2500 stall and a turbo, baby... you gonna fly!

they're not...yes, i know i'm talking to myself.

WD is right. the rb20, sr20, and the KA share the same transmission. the vgtt(z32) uses the same transmission as the rb25.

i have an s13 with a ka24e in it and i plan i making it turbo once it's in good enough condition... before i do this i would like to know if there are any common problems when a turbo is put on an older KA. mine has 136,000+ mi on it and it definitely needs some new parts, so i'd just like to know what should be fixed to handle a turbo, or if i really have nothing to worry about. also if i buy an exhaust system would it HAVE to be for a turbo engine or could a NA exhaust handle it?? Thanks

sorry to go off topic again, but i don't want to waste a new thread for one more small Q. would pistons with that compression work fine on the stock engine (like if i bought them before i put the turbo in)??
