Auto Transmission Problems

If this post is stupid, laugh, I don't care. I just want my car fixed. I'm a broke female college student. Yes, girl driver. Beware.

My s***'s broke.
I have an automatic 96 SX and I need help. Yesterday, my car started, but wouldn't go anywhere. I was parked in a spot where I needed to reverse, but the car would not reverse. I didn't hear any funny sounds or anything at first. When the car in front of me moved, I was able to get my car to drive forward; however, I had to force the pedal a lot more than usual and it jumped forward. I thought it was my brakes at first, so I got it to drive and then messed with the brakes a bit and they were fine. I then discovered that my car will drive in neutral, drive, and 1st... won't drive in reverse or 2nd. And now my car is full of oil-smelling fumes. I am in need of an oil change, but just barely. It is also rattling extremely violently when in park.

I honestly don't want to take it somewhere to have someone tell me a bunch of s*** and make me pay a bunch of money I don't have. I'm hoping its just the oil, but would that really make that big of a deal? It's been just a week over 3 months... I'm scared to drive it because I don't want to mess it up more, even though it does drive fine once it gets over 20mph.

I got an extra auto transmission that I just pulled ran fine...I converted the car to manual with an sr20det. I'll let the transmission go for $40...as they're really not worth anything since no one ever wants them. Feel ya on the broke college student thing too haha
