auto transmission noise?

i have a slight nosie comming from the transmision, only on cold starts when shifting from 1st to 2nd maybe right before it shifts kinda like a spooling noise.. anyone have this problem? sent it to the dealer and ofcoarse they didnt get it to make the noise... any help thankful,,,

I had a Saab 9-5 before my G and had the same problem. I took it to the shop. They flushed the trani and put some better trani fluid in. Did the job. The noise disappeared instantly.

Does it only do it just the one time after a cold start? Or everytime it goes from 1st to 2nd? My '03 does the same thing when it has sat for a while then the during the first shift from 1st to 2nd you hear a "thrrr." After that first time it doesn't do it again until it has sat for a while. I was told on here that it was my ABS doing a self check

mks8882,, yes that exactly what mine is doing only when it first shifts from 1 to 2nd,, 1 time then when i let it sit over night it will do it again only once,, did they say its something ill/you will have to live with???,, thanks for all inputs......

gator, if it occurs every time you start the car, its your ABS going through the self check. completely normal and nothing to worry about...always happens on the first shift from 1st to 2nd. for piece of mind, you can read up on this in your manual (just look up ABS in the index) and this was also explained to me when i bought the car so i wouldn't be running to the dealership right away.
