auto trans with sr20det???

allright is it possable 2 have the sr and keep ur car auto? what do u need 2 do to make an auto able 2 handl 400+ whp? I am sure its possable but I wanna know whats needed 2 acomplish this, thanks everybody

I guess its possible. I think the JDM cars probably came in automatic as well, it would just be a matter of special ordering an automatic clip instead of a 5 speed one.

There are also performance rebuilds available from some domestic rebuilders, some of them work pretty well.

Level Ten has some great performance rebuils for auto transmission, for Imports.

hey cant you just switch the bell housing and use the ka auto, i know that works with the ka manual, i read it somewher cant rmeber though

i dont think that would work simply cause you need the automatic transmission ECU and transmission harness. Auto SR's are cheaper than 5 speed ones anyway...

so u can order and auto sr20det and it should swap into an auto 240 right or whats needed 2 do this? also where can u get an auto sr20det? and the engines gonna be the same as the 5 speed one

just remember an auto with a stall converter can be a PITA to drive on the street. and you need a GOOD transmission cooler to keep it alive. once the stall converter reaches its stall speed it will grab like a race clutch under that speed it slips like crazy

u the guy who owns pacific*rim owns a auto powered sr20det.... i was reading it from a past mag....

just contact him for some advice...

i think VSPEC did his car but i dont know any info or how to get incontact with them besides that they are from cali i think...

maybe I am moveing 2 an area where theres snow and dont wanna have 2 bother with shifting, or maybe I just wanna know if its possable, and I can type however I want this is the internet who cares how sumone types

5spd is better in the winter btw....start off in second gear, lower torque to prevent slipping...and just get some snow tires and lsd and you'll be fine
