They are pretty tuff lil' power robbers. Ive had mine for 78k miles now (bought it with 28k in nov 99' now have 106k) and have beet the hell out of it from day one. Its seen 4 auto-x events in the last 5 months, and more drag runs then I care to remember. The auto-xs include leaving it in second and dropping it into first on corners, as the gearing sucks and second out of a corner kinda blows at times.
On the street Im basically the same way only I never drop it into first. Third to second at 45mph is ok though

Ive been driving it like this since I had it like I said, BUT from day one I have run mobil 1 synthetic atf and have changed it and the fiter on a 25k mile interval. I accredit the long (long for a beat to hell auto) slip free life to that.
Oh and a guy named marty king (iirc) was putting down around 240hp to the wheels (forced induction) on a bone stock s14 mc auto trans with only a level 10 valve body upgrade, which just improves effeciency.
