everyone does the sr20 with the 5 speed conversion, i like driving my 240 vert with the auto trans, but would like more power. does the sr20 with auto trans fit right into the car and if you do a horsepower boost can the trans handle it. I have not seen this combo so im curious how the driveability would be . Also i found out that its cheaper to buy

The auto transmission will probably handle up to 180ish, but I have no idea. You will be taking a TQ/HP loss by going to the SR20 to begin with. The SR can be modded to gain more than the KA, but if you're going to swap why only an auto SR?

put the money you would spend on an sr into a boosted ka. much easier. plus more power. dont know about the trans holding up though.

I heard the auto trans can handle up to 300 to 350 HP. Dont know if the sr20 auto has differnt shift points and might be able to handle the power up grade more than the ka auto trans .

Nissan did make SR20det's with Auto Trans, all you have to do is find one , probably hard to do but no impossible , just call around to the shops that sell them, i should fit no problem, wiring might be a bit hard but you'll find a way. as far as SR20det vs KA24de-t goes, i am more for the SR mainly smoother power band and everything, then again it is your car , do a search and find the pros and cons of both engine and then decide
