auto trans noise

OK, I have not seen anyone else talk about this before but,

between 50 to 60 MPH I hear this weird whinning noise. I figure it is something to do with the trans cause at this speed if I put the car in neutral it goes away.

Also the noise is only during deceleration. Any ideas or help would be great.

possibly your torque converter... might want to look into that

Interesting, though I dont have a auto trans I have a problem too only during deceleration. Mines a deepier vibration or rattle more than it is a whine. Here is my thread. zerothread/197509

I've been trying to figure mine out for a very long time.

I'm not saying your problem is the not the transmission or torque converter but you also might want to look at your driveshaft and engine and transmission mounts too.
