Figured it would get more attention here...How much do they usually go for? How hard is the install? What should I look out for? Does anyone have one here in Texas area? I own a 240sx and have done clutch/manual/auto trans work on them, anything similar (doubt it). Thanks

aim: is bbturbo87, i rarely ever get on nico anymore

There's not going to be much similarity. FWD transmissions can be a real pain to work on.

Never bought one. I wouldn't pay more than a few hundred for a used one. You could probably find a reman for $800-1000. You could also get a rebuild kit. No idea what that would cost, and it's probably more trouble than it's worth.

Transmission replacement would mean dropping removing the axles and crossbracing. I wouldn't call it difficult as much as convoluted. Ideally, you'll want a lift. The motor and transmission will need to be seperately supported.

Is this for a manual or automatic? I've got diagrams of bolt placement and torque specs for both transmissions. Let me know which you need.

Lastly:If it's an auto, do yourself a favor and upgrade to a manual.

You can reach me via AIM at XMinisterofDOOMX. I'll try to remember to stay signed on over the weekend.
