I hope this has not been covered prior. Does anyone know if the auto trans in a 95 240 is the same as the auto in a car that came with the CA18DET? I will be swapping in a CA18DET and my car's an auto, I have the opportunity to get an auto from a car that had the CA18 factory. I would like to know if the mounting, brackets, torque converter, etc. from the CA18 auto are compatible with my 95 240. Or will I need to fab a bunch of stuff. I don't want/need to hear all the "5 speed is the way to go" B.S., I'm an old guy (by most of y'alls standards) and have zero desire to row gears anymore. Thanks for the help!

I have an Auto CA18det Transmission taking up space in my carport. It would sure save you alot of trouble. If I read your post correctly, you are looking for an auto transmission for the CA?

That's correct, I would need the wiring harness and computer for it as well. Do you have any idea as to answers to my questions? That will be the determining factor for me. If I have to I will swap to a 5 speed, but as I said I have really no desire to row gears anymore. PM me with details on the transmission and assorted stuff.

I have the computer for it, Im just not sure if I have the harness laying around somewhere. The harness I will have to double check on, but I do have the computer for sure.

Based on the photos I've seen, the bell housing isn't detachable, it's all one piece. My auto has reverse burned out of it anyway.

honestly, due to the ca's lack of torque, the auto's tendancy to take torque, and the extra weight of a s14, i dont know if id go with a ca.

have you considered an auto rb swap? you can pick them up pretty cheap.

Point me to an RB that's complete w/ auto trans & all accesories and harness for $1000.00 and I'll do it.

Saying there are an a**load of them and actually me being able to get one in my garage for that 1K are two totally different things. So again point me to one I can grab for 1000 bones to my house.
