hey guys i been searching around the forums for information on how to change the auto trans filter and fluid. can someone talk me through the job.

i know i can just drain the fluid from the transmission, but i want to do the filter as well.

i wated to get my car smogged.

was thinking a small tune-up. maybe change some parts out that could be faulty. the car is old so i need to change some parts. 02 sensor etc.?

any suggestions guys.

thanks in advance.

You'll need to drop the transmission oil pan to get access to the filter.

As for the smog, it never hurts to replace tune parts, but a waste of time or money if they aren't needed. If you know they are in need replace the plugs, cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter, O2 sensor, etc. But you might want to wait until after the smog test because you might find that you'll need to spend money on other stuff (catalytic converter, egr) if it fails.

the guy said something like "my low speed and high speed is to high" like it should be lower then 1% and i was like at 5-7%.

what does that mean?

anyone have any ideas of what i can do and what this smog guy means?

You'll need to give more info. There are 5 gasses that are tested at "low speed" and "high speed". Which one of those gasses that is too high makes a big difference on troubleshooting your problem.

I think he was probably talking about your CO%, which is unburnt fuel (running rich). Most of the time that would be the fault of the Air Mass Meter, but there are many other possibilities.

If you can post up the specific numbers or a scan of the smog report I might be able to help a little more.
