I had heard that the new 2004 Q45's have a updated auto transmission software fix that sharpens up the shifts and lessens the "hunting" and delayed shifts in D mode.
Anyone know about this? Since the transmission is the same in our G35's, - could it be applied to our auto trannies?
I asked at our dealer here in Edmonton, Canada, and was told they had heard that it was a Q45 specific upgrade! ???

You could install a 7 wire grounding kit. I've heard that it makes a big difference in the auto shifts. Plus the colored wires add a nice look to the engine compartment.

Hi, Fred and GMachine.
The transmission TSB applies to the 2003 Q45, 2003 M45 and 2003 G35 - both sedan and coupe. None of the 2004 models are listed.
Ask the dealer to do the TCM programming as recommended in ITB03-034. The "other" stuff in the TSB may not be needed - particularly if the Check Engine light is not on.

I just asked because my mom lived in Frankfurt until she was 21 and met my dad. He was in the service. I still have relatives over that come to visit every year.
