Auto transmission stuck In 2nd gear...

Please help me, my girlfriends 240 is stuck in second gear. When she drives first into second is fine, but it won;t change into third. I was recommened to ask you guys as you seem to know alot about her car. thankyou if you can helpIt is a 97 240 SX auto with 60,000

That's one of the things i hate about automatics.Stuff happens. Anyway,maybe she has overdrive turned on,or was it that power thing automatics have?I dunno,read the manual i'm sure there's help in there.

i have an auto too and havent had problems yet...(knock on wood)... but my buddy's rx-7 did the same thing, it wouldnt shift to 3rd till he totally let off the gas for a sec, then it would shift and he would go about his business. dunno if that'll help but anything FREE is worth a try eh?

thats sounds like something you should really have checked out before any real damage can be done...it may be somethin small...take it to a shop thats specializes in trannys, dont bother with a nissan dealer, they will charge out the a$$ to even look at it...

Thanks guys, I found a link on one of the other forums and there is a squence you can do to stop it. Now it is fixed but thanks for the quick replies, you guys are alot better than Honda -tech. at responding.
