auto transmission cooling question.

I've recently purchased an auto 95 240sx SE. the prob is that the platic on the radiator is cracked (rendering unrepairable). I've found a Manual radiator for dirt cheap, but I'm wondering about the transmission coolant lines...

would it be massively detrimental to the transmission if i were to just cap these lines off? I'm planning on doing a manual swap soon anyways, but I have to hold off for a bit.

btw, i searched for this topic for a while, didn't find any info on it.

Don't just cap them off. Heat is the leading killer of auto trannys. Buy a $60 B&M transmission cooler and plumb it up.

do a search for it in a search engine I dont have a link to give you. As far as install it should come with instructions. you will bemounting it in front of the radiator and condensor.

if you need one i have one that had about 300 miles on it. i needed it so i could drive to school and to work till i changed the transmission. i will sell it to you for cheap. email at [email protected] if you are interested. this was the second best from pep boys. jsut let me know and i will be sure to help you find the place to install it.

ah, thanks for the offer, but i got a transmission cooler from pep boys.... turns out i don't need it though, as I've got a blown headgasket that was causeing the overheating, which put too much stress on the Radiator, so it cracked.

I'm just buying a new engine and doing the manual conversion at the same time.
