When swapping and auto transmission in my 1.8 for a 5 speed manual do I need to buy or have any brackets fabricated or should everyting bolt up? (wont be doing it until I get an sr)

Ok found the Sr swap thred and got most of the answers. Still open to any suggestions or tips tho.

Get an SR transmission (00-01 Sentra would be your best bet) and it'll drop in much more easily. Note that the clutch on those is hydraulic, so you're going to need the associated parts for that too.

Thnxs, I saw that when I was looking at the FSM. The sr transmission wouldnt hapin to fit the QG would it? (my auto transmission feels like it starting to go bad on me). I dont think it does since the other engine is larger but I'll throw it out there cuz I might be wrong.

They are interchangeable. The SR unit has slightly taller gearing in 4th and 5th.

Good that will save me some $$$, Im waiting for my friend to get back from his deployment to help me with the install. Would the taller gears cause any issues? I probobly wont use them much since most of my driveing is in the city.

They're only ever so slightly taller, so no.
