auto to manual swap

ok...i know there have been many other dicussions on this, I've searched them and haven't found the detailed info I am looking for...my idea is to do this, take a manual transmission off of a 89 240 and drop it into my 240...but I'm not exactly sure how this would be done and would like a few more details on it...

also...would it be easier to just take the 5 lug hubs off of another 240, or just taking the whole defferential...gonna have to do some real digging to find my old post about this...
