How do I get that darn pilot bushing thing out of there? I've seen a few places say I need to change it, but that's all they really say. Any tips on getting it out?

i forget where i read this but it worked for me:

pack the hole with grease (thick lithium grease preferred)... then get a socket that barely fits in the bushing, put a short extension on it... and give it a good thump with a mallet...

works on hydrolic pressure..... the grease has nowhere to go... so it pushes on the bushing..

took me a couple of tries but it worked.... you might be alittle messy afterwards.... dont try it with thin grease since it pases through the gaps too easy (and doesnt want to stay in the hole)

just do it so the bushing is sticking out a bit and you can grab it with pliers

****only replace this part with an OEM Nissan replacement! cheapo replacements dont fit right... i wound up grinding alittle off mine to make it fit!!!****

for some very odd reason... mine did not have a pilot bearing when i pulled it out, unless it fell out when the transmission came out but i don't know....

Mine does have one, and it's really stuck in there, but p00t's suggestion sounds quite viable and shall try it when I get home.
