auto to manual ka

i have a 95 at 240sx base model and want to change it to manual, i don't have a problem with getting the parts or putting them on, but im not to familiar with what i have to do with the computer and the harness some people say that i have to get another harness that doesn't have the sensor (im guessing the one for the ignition) on the transmission im not sure if i even have that sensor or not, and i also saw somewhere on the forum that you can change something in the ecu please can someone clear this up for me so i can be sure of what im doing.
