Auto to manual ECU?

I'm planing an auto to manual swap on my 240sx soon and searched the site and i know most of the stuff i need to do it but do i need the ECU from a 5-speed 240sx. I'm doing this with a friend who works with cars all the time so i'm not too worried, also i'm taking the advantage to ad VLSD to my car. It is going to be sweet. Thanks.

yeah, you need the manual ecu.
