Auto to manual converted vert... Wont crank - new starter (old starter was good

So here are the car stats-

1993 Convertible 240sxAuto - 5spd convertedstock

Symptoms before-After driving (warm temp) sometimes you would get back in the car to restart her and she wouldnt crank on the first key turn. Turn the key back to off and then turn it back to start and it starts no problem.

After about a year now I got out to my car at around 5pm and the car wouldnt start at all. Them temp was cold it had been sitting for 10 hours. I was able to push start the car and get her home so I automatically assumed it was my starter and ordered a new one. Changed out my starter today and still no cranking.

All the wiring looks good. The car has run great for over a year after the conversion. What else could it be? Could it be Ignition key solenoid related? How do I test for this? Thanks guys!

maybe your temp sensor is going bad

id be willing to bet either something to do with the wiring since you converted it, or your ignition switch in your steering colomn. as this tends to be a common problem with the 240s. the ignition switch problem generally theres a clicking sound associated with that issue when you turn the key.

So if you hear a simple click there is a relay issue? Or what.. please explain a little further. I rigged a temporary solution with a toggle switch and 12v right to my starter solenoid to get it back and fourth to work for now.
