ok here's the deal: auto trans car with manual trans, engine, and wiring harness. the harness runs from the ecu on the right of the car all the way around to the drivers side into the fuse box and on up into the ignition switch. the car is not equipped with the wires that tell the car to start when the clutch is mashed in, therefore it won't start. (that's my theory anyway) there has to be some wires somewhere that I can jumper or something to get this thing to start how can I fool this car into thinking the clutch pedal is mashed??

I know my car is only a ka24, but I figured somebody out there has to have run into the same problem...

what year 240 is it. I know when I did it one a 92 there was this one plug that was goin to the transmission it was just 2 wires and I looped those 2 and the car started. it was a gray oval plug that was near the battery. I believe one of the wire colors was blue but not too sure.

Yes it is a grey oval plug. It is your starter trigger wire and is an ignition feed. On the auto trans one wire comes from the ignition switch to the auto trans and it goes out and to the starter. That is your neutral safety switch that only allows you to start in park or neutral. Since you have no auto trans you eliminate continuity between the wires. Follow your trigger from your starter and it should bring you to that gray oval plug. Jump the plug one wire to another and try to start. Then if it does go and CUT the plugs and splice the wires together so it is a permanent wire. They way it wil never fall off. MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS START CLUTCH IN OR NUETRAL. It will kick over in any gear now unless you get a clutch safety switch. Your welcome -Alex

om my friends car when we did auto to manual we did that same jumper but with the auto transmission connector so we could remove it if we needed.think of it as super ghetto antitheft.

Yah I did same as carl with mine. BUt I have never taken it back off. It makes it really, really easy to put a remote starter in it. just leave it in neutral whenever you park and pull the e-brake.
