Ive been running into a few problems with this adventure lol... **** the auto pilot bushing! anyway i mounted the cluctch and everything and we slid the transmission on today which was also pretty crappy... but when we slid it on it didnt exactly go against the motor all the way theres like a little gap. and its a ***** to get the bolts in enough to thread especially when you dont have the exact right bolts because a friend lost them... ugh but anyway the question i guess is the transmission supposed to be flush with the motor before bolting on? how do i get it on evenly all the way around? and where can i get transmission bolts.... so i know for sure which one goes in which hole? damn i feel like an idiot but please help

You should use right size of bolts. Here's the detail.

Did you use dust/adaptor plate? Thta'll take up about 2-3mm space between engine and transmission. You need it cuz your clutch might slip later.

^+1 on using the right size

as far as the auto pilot bushing I heard you had to use the MT pilot bushing? and yes the transmission should be pretty flush against the motor/dust plate. make sure the shaft is in there and manuver it in. (*this will take a while... trust me (you'll think its in, but it can go further)A matter of fact, Im actually pulling my transmission today so we'll be doing the same thing hahaGood luck man, hope everything works out,

A lot of times, the input shaft can get hung up on a new pilot bushing. It's best to put a bit of bearing grease on the nose of the input shaft to help it slide on. I also check my pilot bushings for burrs before I install the trans. A small burr can really hang you up.

When you're installing, you need to rock the trans back and forth to get the splines to line up properly. If rocking the trans isn't an option, you can always have someone take a ratchet and work the crank back and forth a few degrees.

Once everything lines up, you should be able to either a) slide the trans all the way on or b) get it close enough that you can get it to mate up by tightening bolts.

It's not a fun/easy process since being off a few degrees in your trans height can make the whole process a donkey ball suck fest. You just need to keep at it.

You can try a hardware store, but they're pretty big. You might have trouble finding the right thread and length. There's a shop in my area that specializes in automotive bolts that I usually use to get things like that, so you might want to check to see if you have anything like that nearby. Or even see if the auto parts stores can help you out.

Ace hardware store has them. I should have bought these off eBay and be done with it. Chasing down all those different sizes of bolts were not fun.

k so i pretty much found out the problem... took us forever to realize it lol... you guys know how there is like a little stubby at the top of the bellhousing, it acts as like a guide. well i guess when we took my manual transmission off of the other motor that little guide broke off inside of it and thats why there was always a gap at the top and the transmission wouldnt go on right. so after hours of going wtf? we dropped the transmission and noticed it. then drilled it out and had everything else done in like an hour...... how annoying haha but thanks for your help you guys
