I have looked at a lot of post and write ups about the swap but all of them tell how to wire the neutral saftey switch so that it is always active. My question is there anyway to wire up the switch so that it perfoms as origanally designed?

I'm just wondering why you would want to have it performing as designed unless you have a convertible.

Anyhow, i was searching and read that you need to either short the Neutral Safety Swich or wire it to the Clutch Lockout Sensor. It requires some connector/wiring modifications. I'm not %100 sure about this so you might wanna search more on it.

Not sure how NICO is about posting links to other forums, but if it helps, i'm sure it won't hurt...

Thanks for the response but that link just tells how to bypass the swithc instead of wiring it in. I want the switch to work just for saftey's sake; and I am kind of anal like that.I think I may just need to find out where the wires to and from the switch plug into. I will have to reference a factory 5spd setup to check for sure.

Easy.

Put the stock switch ont he clutch pedal...when it's depressed, it will complete a circuit. Make the circuit GROUNDED.

Now, using a relay, wire the 2 large wires under the hood to connect when the relay is grounded, like so:

pin 30 - One of the neutral switch wires.pin 87- The other neutral switch wire.pin 86 - positive (+) wire that's switch from the ignition.pin 85 - Wire ( (-) ground)from the clutch switch.

SO when you put the key in and turn it to the first position, the one switch wires goes hot. As soon as you depress the clutch, it closes the relay, and completes the NSS circuit. And the car starts...

Easy.

I just noticed earlier that the auto ecu mounts right where the clutch pedal goes. So my question now is for those that have done the swap, where and how did you mount the ecu?

Remove it.

Once the auto trans is gone, that ECU is no longer needed.

I didn't realize that was the auto ecu. Does the harness need to connect to anything else or is it now not needed?
