auto to 5spd kits??

ok so i called a shop today in my town and asked how much it would cost to have them do a auto to manual swap.....he said since they'll have to find the parts and theres alot of wiring it would run me at least $2000.00....he said though that they sell kits for the auto to manual swap online and if i got one of those it would make it alot easier and therfore not cost that much for labour...he told me to go to nissanracing.com and they have them there but i went and it doesnt exist as far as i can tell, do you guys know if you can buy a kit?...and if i were to get stuff out of a junkyard then how would i know if was good or not?

dude there's not that much wiring. it's just a hassle to find the parts and pull them at the yard. just grab the parts from the yard and when you install them, replace some of the parts if you find that they're bad. Might be a better idea to buy a new clutch once you're bout ready to do the conversion though. I've done a write up on the wiring on the online mechanic section since it looks like alot of people are doing the change over. and the rest of it's just a bunch of elbowgrease.
