Auto subscribe has been turned on. What that means - whenever you start a new thread, from now on (it doesn't apply to previous threads), you automatically receive notifications for responses to that thread. The reason this has been enabled is so you can remember to check it, just in case you have a lot of threads going at once. If you want to turn it off, you can go into your User Control Panel and turn it off manually.

To add to what Bex said...

We get a lot of new people who pop in and ask a question... maybe they ask on 2 or 3 forums, and they forget to check back. You guys pitch in and reply, and the person never gets to see the responses.

At any rate, you can easily click it off in the User CP if you no longer want to track a thread you started.

Thanks!

I like the idea that when you start a post, you get a notification...

What I can't stand is when I post some where, the default setting is to notify me every time any one posts on that thread.

I get like 30 emails a day telling me that people responded to 5 threads.

Any way to change default settings?
