the transmision warning light is on and the code given was pressure control solenoid, or so i was told by a mechanic.

Does anyone have a price to replace this part? Or other suggestions as to what it might be? The price my friend was quoted was $480 i did a search but nothing came up.

when driving the Q it stalls a little between shifts, like it shifts a lil bit late.

Any comments greatly appreciated:) thanx

Sounds about right, pricewise, hopefully that's all. I assume you have not been flushing the transmission [changing ATF] every 2 years or 30k.

well my friend wasnt the original owner, but they did have service records, but i don't know to what extent those services were. so $480 sound right? He also mentioned something about "a whole set" or somethin. I'm not to familiar with Q transmissions.

All Electronic controlled transmissions are pretty much the same in that they all use solenoids to control the shifts, lockups, and pressures.

Whole set "of solenoids" is the usual way to change them as they are contained in one assembly.

According to Design Integration Magazine in 2001 21% of the cost of a new vehicle was in electronics, by 2005 expected to be 30% by 2010 36%...................think its time for owners to start taking night classes in electronic technology.

$500 transmission repair is cheap considering a remanned replacement is $2900.
