is it true that you can do this without damaging your trans? I can imagine this might cause a problem between shifts under hard acceleration, my car gives a little kick when it shifts anyways, is this a safe procedure? i have a 91 240 XE, COUPE BABY

well, as a fellow automatic 240sx owner. ive tried that "trick" and it shift harder and faster, but i started to noticed a strange smell in my car after about 20 minutes. i guess its the smell of the transmission working harder. but then again... it might just be my car. but i would recomend just to do every now and then. its not a really safe "trick" to do on your ride.

nah i wouldnt do this. i got a CEL and the funny smell. cant some1 take that of the faq???
