auto seatbelt removal

has anyone removed their automatic seatbelts? i am putting in aftermarket seats and want to put in some aftermarket quick releasesso i can do away with the motor activated neck hangers.

it depends on how you want to do it... I have mine disconnected so they dont run back and forth ever time you open up the door but the motors and such still exist.. and its not such a big deal to take them out... In the picture circled in yellow is the auto motor for the seatbelt. You can either compleatly remove it or just disconnect it so once its in the possition you want it never moves again... Quick note there is a plug for each direction the neck hanger moves you need to remove both if you want it stationary

yeah my car has auto seat belts too, and those things SUCK. Iv been strangled about a hundred times... When im working on the engine and reach in through the window to turn on the car, they wrap around my neck every time... yet i still forget. So when u take out the motor it just sits in its perch near the corner and you have to plug the seat belt in every time.. Maybey i should just wire them to a switch (like everything else in my car) so i have the "option" of auto..

you guys you dont have to disconnect the motor !!!!under your center consoul behind tha ash tray is a brass colored box has to connectors going into it that controls the belt motors just disconnect the plugs an you nolonger have auto seat belts
