I have a 90 fastback and the passenger's auto seatbelt portion doesn't go back. It just stays in one spot so I was wondering what might be the issue. THanks a lot guys for all the inputs

there might be an incomplete posting when I accidentally hit enter.Sorry about that. Anyway, make sure you check your relays under the hood. I think there is a seatbelt relay I'm not sure. Service manuals work great if you can get one for a reasonable price from the dealership(about $70.00) or chilton's make one that can be purchased from O'Reilly auto parts for about $16.00. Pick your poison. Good Luck!

get the wiring schematic for body electric from the fsm. check the simple stuff first. fuses, grounds, relays. check mechanical connections, slider rail, etc. used seatbelt motor from junkyard was 20 bucks when i pulled one off. its behind where the rearseat armrest is.

Is is just the passenger's side? Does it move at all? Door open, door closed, ignition on or off? When does it happen? I am consulting my manual from the 90 model 240sx that I used to own and seeing if there is a relay because it has been so long ago since I had that car.

All seatbelt components have a lifetime warranty. Goto your local Nissan dealership.

My driverside seatbelt was stuck out in front and wouldn't retract. My local dealership ordered all parts and fixed the problem for me-------free of charge.

Only the passenger's side. It just stuck up front and wouldn't retract regardless if the door ir open or closed.

chickentendah: Are you for real? I just got this car from someone recently and been having so many problems. I knew them already that was why i bought it so I can get it for cheap. So just take it up to any nissan dealership and you're good to go?

I'm serious. Goto your dealership. And if they tell you "no sir, I don't believe there's a lifetime warranty"------insist there is, because there really is. And while your at it, get all your RECALL-service done if it hasn't already been done (e.g. defective Takata seatbelt buckles).
