I just cleaned the battery connections on my car, 95q, when I replaced the cable everything worked fine, except my seat. The power in my seats worked, but you know when you put the key in and out it automatically goes up for ease of getting in and out of the car, this for some reason stopped working. Any ideas of what the problem is, or a reset anywhere?

Thanks,

Yeah, it's been posted here a couple of times before.

Here's the procedure:

1. Open the drivers door2. Turn the key to the Run position3. Turn the key all the way back off, but don't remove the key4. Close the door5. Wait about 1 minute6. Open the door, the memory function should work now.

A couple of times I've been too anxious and opened the door withoutwaiting long enough, if you do, just start the procedure over.

Also check the CANCEL button on the steering column telescope control switch. If it is depressed the seat and steering wheel will not move when you pull the key.

I swear I cannot win with this car, I started messing around with fuses think maybe one blew before I read your fix, my seat memory now works, but for some reason my windows and power door locks don't work, along with my keyless entry or clock. But, my drivers door lock and window work and so does my sunroof. Very confused. Any ideas? All the fuses look good.

Minor variation on Maxnix's procedure

0. Set steering wheel to fully up position and seat to fully back. Remove key and get out of car. Close door.1. Open the drivers door2. Turn the key to the Run position3. Turn the key all the way back off, but don't remove the key4. Close the door5. Wait about 1 minute6. Open the door, the memory function should work now.

Worked great for me!

The auto seat/steering wheel function can be sporadic in my 94Q. Whenever it's safe I leave the key in the ignition with the window down (at work for the day) and it starts working again.

Hey, I got a procedure where you bake a cake first, then solve the financial crisis, feed the poor, then start at step 1.

Just as effective!
