ok i'm doing a auto to manual swap and i have one question.

the automatic pilot bearing thing i need to remove is one that is just inside the hole, barely a smaller diameter than the rest of the hole, that is positioned towards where the transmission mates up with the block, right?

I really want to make sure i get the right thing.

thanks

HUH?! The thing in the thing thats barely smaller than the thing.

OK Ill take a stab and say your talking about the pilot bearing in the end of the crank that supports the input shaft of the trans.

1st off never reuse an old one. 2nd they should come w/ a clutch kit, ask to be sure. 3rd get a new clutch kit...clutch plate, pressure plate, throw out bearing and pilot bearing.

OOOOR are you talking about the locating pins or dowels that position the transmission exactly where it belongs in relation to the block???

There shouldnt be anything in there when removing the auto trans. The snout of the torque converter fits into the crank end. All you should need to do is swap the flex plate for the flywheel and tap in the pilot bearing/ bushing.
